EightStar in America
But in the past several years, an exclusive focus on the American market has brought the company increasing attention, including feature stories in nearly every leading U.S. jewelry industry trade magazine.
The EightStar Diamond Company's first act of business was to send American cutters to Japan to study under Mr. Higuchi in 1991. Even professionals with years of cutting experience required vast amounts of training in Japan.
They reported that much of what they had been taught in diamond cutting school had no applicable value when attempting to execute Mr. Higuchi's extremely complex polishing methods.
They were all considered experts in our country before they knew of Mr. Tamura's special diamonds. They returned from Japan in awe of their teacher.
